Fitz is my 5-year-old golden retriever, born on Christmas 2019, and he means everything to me. He was originally meant to be my autism service dog, and even though he did not complete training, he has still been my companion through so much. Right now, Fitz has a cruciate tear in his hind left leg and needs TPLO surgery to give him the best chance at healing and living without constant pain. On top of that, Fitz has struggled with anxiety and gained a significant amount of weight while staying with family as I worked to get settled in another state after college. I am an animal caretaker, so it is heartbreaking to watch him hurt and not be able to fix this on my own right away.
I am currently facing financial hardship and difficult personal circumstances, and I also need to find a safe place for us to live. My biggest priority is getting Fitz the care he needs and making sure I can be there for him throughout recovery. Your support will help cover his surgery, medications, and physical therapy, while also helping me secure stable housing so I can safely care for him as he heals.
If you are able to give, please know that any contribution means the world to us. Even if you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser would help more than I can say. I am reaching out with hope for support to help Fitz get through this surgery and to help us begin a safer, more stable new chapter together.
