Fish is a sweet, older stray cat who has been part of my life for several years. My mom and I first met him when he started visiting our home, and he quickly became a friendly presence in our neighborhood. We tried making him an indoor cat, but he preferred the freedom of being outside. Over time, though, I’ve watched his health decline, and it’s become clear that he needs help. Recently, I noticed Fish struggling to eat, drooling, and spitting out his food. When I looked closer, I saw his teeth were broken, and he’s been losing weight ever since. He also has bald patches and raw, irritated skin that sometimes bleeds. Seeing him in pain has been heartbreaking, and I know he deserves better in his senior years.
Fish isn’t just any stray—he’s incredibly sweet, loves snuggles and cuddles, and is always friendly with other cats. He’s talkative, especially when it’s mealtime, and his gentle nature has made him a favorite in our family. My hope is to get Fish the urgent vet care he needs, including treatment for his dental and skin issues, and to test for any diseases before bringing him inside. I want to give him a safe, comfortable home where he can spend the rest of his life without fear or pain.
As a college student, it’s tough to afford the vet bills, especially in Houston where costs are high. My mom and I are doing everything we can, but we need help to make sure Fish gets the care he deserves. Every donation will go directly toward his medical treatment, ongoing care, and making his transition to indoor life as smooth as possible. Thank you for helping us give Fish the loving home he’s always deserved.
