Help First Generation Student Graduate College

Let me start off by saying, yes, my name is Charity. I am a first generation college student and a woman in STEM. I have been working two jobs and had to take a year off in 2019 to save up for last school year. I have one year left in order to graduate with my BS in Biotechnology. My ultimate goal is my PhD in molecular biology. I graduated from Baltimore City Community College in 2018 with my Biotechnology associates degrees as well as a biotech certification and lab animal science certification. I have always been active in my field and in school activities by helping other students, being president of the biotech club, and giving scientific poster presentations etc. I knew I wanted to go to college ever since I was in elementary school. I begged my parents for a savings account to start a college fund but was unsuccessful. Family members tried to start one for me but my parents were constantly losing my social security card and birth certificate. Any money I saved in my piggy bank was eventually stolen by my drug addicted parent. I was expecting to be receiving financial aid for the 2020-2021 school year. Because of the circumstances, and me being unmarried and under 25, FAFSA considers me as part of my parents household. I have not lived with them since 2014. I have no financial ties to them. My mom is disabled and my dad is homeless and struggles with drug addiction. I am not able to ask them for help. I am doing everything I can to avoid loans. I am currently enrolled at UMGC in their Biotech program. If you are able to help me, it is very much appreciated.
