Hi everyone,
On Tuesday, August 20th, our family dog Fiona was attacked at Gulliver Park by what appeared to be a lone off-leash Pit Bull Terrier during one of her daily afternoon walks. The owners of the dog stood idle as it ran towards Fiona and bit her in multiple places. My mom could not fend off the dog and struggled to get Fiona out of its mouth.
When Fiona was finally able to escape, she ran back to our building, crossing a busy street with my mom running after her. The owners of the Pit Bull then quickly attached a chain-like leash to the dog and ran away.
Unfortunately, Fiona sustained substantial injuries, resulting in an overnight stay in emergency vet care. She will need ongoing veterinary visits and faces a lengthy recovery ahead.
Asking for help isn’t easy, but any support, no matter the size, would help my family with the unexpected costs that have resulted from this horrifying incident. I know we are not in good economic times, but anything helps.
We would also appreciate it if this could be shared, so we can bring the owner of the Pit Bull to justice and return Amesbury neighbourhood to the safe place for pups it once was.
With Gratitude,
