Help Fiona Recover From A Gnarly Bike Accident

Hi,

My name is Anni and I'm fundraising for my friend and fellow Punks With Lunch volunteer, Fiona.

On Saturday, Fiona was riding their bike to work when they were hit by a car. They landed so hard that their helmet cracked and they got a concussion. Their spine was also fractured between their shoulder blades, their rotator cuff was injured, and their arm will now be in a sling for 4 to 8 weeks. As of right now, they are getting by but can barely do most daily activities without considerable pain and are still experiencing the effects of the concussion. Their job and income as a massage therapist has obviously come to a sudden and unexpected halt. It's unclear when they will be able to return to work.

Our dear Fiona has been a consistent volunteer for Punks With Lunch for years. They have been involved in many aspects of the mutual aid collective but are best known for providing our participants with hot drinks every Sunday at our distribution site. They are a favorite among participants partially due to their genuine and caring nature and partially because they mix specialty coffee drinks to order better than anyone else can. Once, while Fiona was on vacation, I tried to take over on serving hot drinks and the participants weren't afraid to tell me point-blank that they couldn't wait for Fiona to return. :)

Beyond Punks With Lunch, Fiona is a friend to many and anyone who has gone to them for a massage knows that they put focused care and attention into each client, taking the time to understand the underlying issues that might be leading to aches and pains.

Unfortunately, the person who hit them on Saturday doesn't have insurance or even a license which is adding bureaucracy and possible legal fees to the situation not to mention excess medical bills.

All the money raised from this fundraiser will go directly to Fiona and be used to cover medical costs, any legal fees, and help them pay their living expenses while they are unable to work.
