During this Covid19 crisis I have encountered my own personal crisis: melanoma that has metastasized to my lymph nodes. This has changed my life and future radically.  I am used to being the caregiver as both a mom to my 21 year old twin sons and as a private caregiver to elderly clients in their homes.  I am no longer able to work at this time and now I am the one needing care and am asking for any financial support you can provide.

Here is a brief summary of my current medical situation:

My life dramatically changed in March 2020 when I was diagnosed with Melanoma cancer.  With the help from a wonderful doctor, Dr. John Starr, he referred me to two exceptional doctors, Dr. Mohammed Kashani-Sabet, a dermatologist and Dr. Brian Parrett, a Plastic Surgeon.   On April 7, 2020 I had my first surgery, melanoma removed from my face and a biopsy was taken of the lymph nodes.  A week later, a PET CT scan confirmed that I was positive for cancer in the  lymph nodes. Dr. Parrott immediately scheduled me for an  emergency second surgery.

After the second surgery, I was in so much pain and because of the incredible stress from all that was going on with the cancer diagnosis, I was advised by my team of doctors to get plenty of rest and be stress free. So I made the difficult decision to give up my current job.

The prognosis for my recovery includes immunotherapy  for one year. I am now working with Oncologist, Dr.  Kevin Brian Kim. The treatment includes drug therapy every three weeks with PET CT scans every three months. I have full confidence that this treatment will work for me.

As a private caregiver I am paying for my own medical insurance premiums. Now as a result of not being able to work I don’t have the income to cover my hospital bills or on going treatments, along with all other living expenses such as rent, car payments, medical insurance, etc. I’m asking for any financial support you may be able to give to ease this financial strain.
