My afi (icelandic for grandpa), Finn Abrahamson, has always been the heart of our family. His Icelandic heritage being a major part of who he is. The one who could make anyone laugh, no matter the situation. Recently, he was diagnosed with an inoperable stage 4 glioblastoma, an aggressive brain tumor. Despite undergoing radiation and chemotherapy, the tumor continues to grow rapidly, and doctors have given him only a couple of months left. It’s been a heartbreaking journey, but his positive spirit and sense of humor have never wavered. He’s found strength in his faith, being baptized last year and finding comfort in his church community.
As he faces this difficult road, our family is doing everything we can to support him. The costs of medical care, travel for treatment, and daily living expenses have quickly added up. But more than anything, my grandpa has one last wish: to travel Route 66 and experience the adventure he’s always dreamed of. We want to make his final months as joyful and meaningful as possible, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
If you’re able, please consider donating or sharing this fundraiser to help my grandpa and our family during this incredibly difficult time. Your support will help ease the financial burden and give him the chance to fulfill his dream. We also welcome funny cards or stories to keep his spirits up—laughter has always been his medicine. Thank you for your kindness, prayers, and support.
