Our sweet boy Finnigan has been in and out of the emergency vet for the past week. He initially went in for a blockage and UTI, and the doctor uncovered that he also has a weak heart. On Friday, while his primary vet was attempting to perform a cystotomy due to a second blockage, he went into cardiac arrest and stopped breathing. He went back to the emergency vet after this and was able to regain his strength over the weekend. He is stable and doing pretty well considering.
Since he is such a loved companion to our family, we haven't been able to give up hope on finding a way to help him pull through this. Unfortunately, we have hit our financial limit on what we can do, so we are asking for help if anyone is able to. The vet wants to put a soft catheter in so that we can bring him home to spend time with him and try to get his stones to dissolve through diet. If this happens, we will next be looking into having an echocardiogram done to better understand his heart diagnosis and try to manage that.
Again, if anyone is able to help in any way, it would be so deeply appreciated. If not, no worries, please just continue to send him all your strength, prayers, love, etc.
