Dear Friends, Family, and Community,
We are reaching out to you today with heavy hearts and a humble request. Our beloved two-year-old husky-German shepherd mix, Finnick, has been a cherished part of our family since he was just ten weeks old. From the moment we adopted him from the rescue, he brought so much joy, love, and energy into our lives. Finnick is more than just a dog — he’s family.
In June of 2025, Finnick experienced his first seizure. What we initially thought was a one-time event turned out to be the beginning of a difficult journey. After multiple visits to the emergency animal hospital and several follow-up appointments, Finnick was diagnosed with epilepsy. His seizures now occur monthly, and we’re in the process of figuring out the correct medication and dosage to manage his condition. Right now, his medication alone costs us $200 per month, and we are trying to find the right balance to help him feel better.
Unfortunately, Finnick’s seizures are not always manageable at home. They often come in clusters, which means he requires overnight stays at the hospital for emergency care. Our most recent experience was on October 1st, when Finnick had three back-to-back seizures. In total, Finnick suffered 14 seizures in a 24-hour period, and we had no choice but to bring him to the hospital for treatment. The cost of his stay was $5,200. Finnick also needs an MRI to determine best course of action.
We are reaching out today because we have depleted our funds in caring for Finnick, and we are asking for your help. Each time he experiences a cluster of seizures, it will require an emergency hospital stay. The goal is to find the right medication and dosage that can reduce the frequency and severity of these clusters and allow Finnick to live a more comfortable, stable life. But we can’t do it alone — we need your support to continue giving Finnick the care he deserves.
If you are able to contribute, no matter how big or small, it would mean the world to us and to Finnick. Your donations will go directly to his ongoing treatment, including the cost of his medication, hospital stays, and any additional care he may need in the future.
We are so grateful for the love and kindness we’ve received already, and we know that with your help, we can continue to give Finnick the quality of life he deserves.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting us during this challenging time.
With gratitude,
Aaron, Suzanne, Kaesen, Kaeleigh & Finnick
