Just over a year ago, a senior beagle named Finn was adopted from a small rural shelter. Finn is likely between 11 and 14 years old. When he was found as a stray, he was already in very poor health. We will never know his full past, but it is painfully clear that he experienced years of neglect and likely never had the love and care he deserved.
Despite everything he has been through, Finn is the sweetest, calmest, and most loving little soul you could ever meet. From the moment he arrived, he bonded instantly with his new dad and his two fur siblings, Maggie Lou (beagle) and Flash (basset hound). Finn slipped into family life as though he had been waiting his whole life to finally be safe.
Sadly, years of untreated medical issues have caught up with him. Finn has several serious health conditions, including an enlarged heart and congestive heart failure. But he continues to show incredible spirit. He enjoys every bit of affection, comfort, and warmth he finally has. But much of his day is spent managing difficult symptoms that require continuous care.
Finn sees the vet regularly and takes multiple medications every day. Lately, he has been struggling more than usual. His vet says he now urgently needs another chest x-ray to check for possible fluid in his lungs. This same x-ray was done less than a year ago, but because of his ongoing conditions, the test is necessary again to make sure he is receiving the right treatment.
The cost of this x-ray is about $300, and with all of Finn’s ongoing medication and vet expenses, we are reaching the limit of what we can cover on our own. Every dollar helps, and anything raised above the x-ray cost will go directly toward his ongoing medications and treatments.
Finn may not have many years left, but he finally has a family who loves him deeply. He deserves to spend the rest of his life as comfortably and joyfully as possible. If you are able to help, no matter the amount, it truly means the world.
Thank you for helping give Finn the care he deserves.
