Hi everyone, my name is Izabelle and I’m asking for help for my 6-year-old golden retriever, Finn.
Finn has always been such a happy, healthy, playful dog. Over the last month, though, we’ve noticed his energy slowly declining, and we found two firm bumps, one on his armpit and back and then a newly forming one also on his back. They continue to grow slowly and have not gone away within the past couple of weeks (presumingly about a month and a half).
We took him to Northgate Vet Clinic and had a fine needle aspiration (FNA) done. The results came back inconclusive but concerning. They found spindle cells in the growth. It could be something more benign, like inflammation or a reaction to past trauma, but because the masses have stayed and new ones are appearing, there’s also a real concern for a malignant spindle cell tumor.
The only way to know for sure is to have them surgically removed and biopsied.
The estimate to remove just one growth is $3,025. We’re asking for $4,000 to cover the removal of multiple growths, biopsy costs, and GoFundMe fees. My partner and I both work full time, but between the cost of his testing, a recent emergency vet visit for our cat, and my school expenses as a full-time student, we’re struggling to come up with the full amount quickly. Time matters here, and we don’t want to wait longer than we have to.
Finn has been with me since I was 18 years old and he was just 10 weeks old. He’s grown up with me. He’s my best friend and truly the heart of our home. Anyone who knows me knows Finn — he’s loved by so many people and has brought so much happiness into our lives.
If you’re able to donate, share, or even just keep him in your thoughts, we are so grateful. Every single bit of support means more than I can explain. All funds will go directly toward Finn’s surgery and care, and anything not covered here we will pay out of pocket ourselves.
Thank you for helping us give our sweet boy the best chance possible.
