Help Finn fight Kawasaki Disease
Donation protected
Hello everyone, I have created a GoFundMe for my nephew Finn. Any donations would be greatly appreciated as medical bills and expenses start adding up.
Finn is a wonderful, beautiful, high energy 2y/o boy. He is an absolute joy and the purest soul. He has a particularly spunky absolutely infectious demeanor. Truly an angel walking on this earth.
If you know Finns parents, Gordon and Sam, you know exactly where he gets his great character from. Gordon and Sam are not only wonderful parents, but wonderful human beings, as well. In addition to being the best parents Finn (or any child) could ask for, they also take care of a whole plethora of animals. Ducks, reptiles, fish, arachnids, cats and dogs.
For those of you who are aware, Finn has had a rough year. Last Saturday we were all together for our family's annual pumpkin carving. Finn was lethargic and just off. The next day his parents had to rush him to the emergency room, after a second trip to the ER because his condition wasn't getting any better, Finn was transferred by ambulance to Ann and Robert H Laurie's Children's Hospital in Chicago. It has been a long and exhausting week of tests and 102° fever spurts. The doctors finally diagnosed him with a rare autoimmune disease called Kawasaki disease. Fewer than 20k cases annually in the United States. There is no known cause for this disease. It is treatable if caught and treated within the first 10 days of onset.
Thankfully, we believe they caught it in time. However, Finn has to see a cardiologist and infectious disease doctor to monitor long term effects. Again, expenses and medical bills are mounting. It is unclear at this moment how much insurance will actually cover. Humbly, we are asking for any spare donations anyone can make for this family. Also welcoming thoughts, prayers, and well wishes if you are unable to donate. Thank you in advace ❤️
