Hello, first I would like to thank every person who has taken the time to read through this. My partner Maddie Kuechenmeister and I, are the proud owners of our goldendoodle puppy, Finley. Three weeks ago, Finley’s back right leg was broken while Maddie was on a work trip in Fargo. Finley was taken to an animal emergency room and was evaluated as having a spiral fracture in his tibia and fibula. We have been insuring Finley through the pet insurance company Figo, and filed a claim for the surgery as this was what we had been preparing for in case a crisis like this were to occur. However, Figo has declined the claim for the surgery and followup appointments due to a 6 month orthopedic grace period that we were unaware of. When we contacted Figo to plead our case, a representative notified us of a waiver that would allow us to still receive coverage even while within the grace period. We followed all of the steps given to us, contacted his primary care vet, and filled all forms allowing us to qualify for the waiver. However, earlier today we received the news that they had recently become more strict on their waiver policy and could no longer allow the waiver to go through. The representative we spoke to today notified us that the change had been made very recently, within the last 30 days, and so the previous representative misinformed us about the possibility of using the waiver to still receive coverage. The vet bill has been extremely stressful on both of us and we were holding out hope for the waiver to come through so the financial burden would be less severe. Having heard this news, we are asking anyone who has blessed us with their time reading this to please, if you feel so inclined, donate any amount towards helping to cover the expenses from this emergency surgery and follow up ER visits. We have exhausted every avenue to try and handle this through the insurance company we placed our trust in to cover Finley, and feel that there is no other option other than this. We love our boy very much and want to be able to take care of him. If there is anything you feel you could give to help, we would all appreciate it so much. Again, thank you for taking the time to read this, and God Bless.
