Help Us Bring We Ride Why to the World
We’ve spent the last few years bringing a dream to life. We Ride Why is a deeply personal and community-driven documentary that tells the stories of three mothers whose lives have been forever changed by cancer—and the people who ride for them. This film is about love, loss, resilience, and the power of coming together to make a difference.
Our dedicated team of talented filmmakers, artists, and storytellers have poured their hearts, time, and resources into this project. We’ve invested over $100,000 of our own money so far to fund production, post-production, and early outreach.
Now, we’re reaching out to our community—the same music, cycling, and cancer-surviving communities we’ve supported for years—to help us cross the finish line and get our film out into the world.
The film will be ready for its first public screening in June, 2025, but we still need support to complete:
• Final post-production (editing, music, sound design, color)
• Licensing costs (music, footage, distribution rights)
• Marketing, Marketing Materials and PR
• Submissions to local, national, and global film festivals
• Streaming platforms and event hosting costs
This is a not-for-profit project. Every donation helps bring this story to more people—and 10% of all funds raised will be donated directly to Fred Hutch Obliteride to help accelerate cancer research.
We’ll also be offering rewards and incentives for our supporters in the future (Stay tuned!)—whether that’s exclusive access to screenings, digital premieres, or other behind-the-scenes content. Everyone who contributes will be invited to join us for a viewing party or premiere.
Once we meet our funding goals, we plan to increase our donation to Fred Hutch and continue telling powerful, purpose-driven stories that lift up communities and honor those we love.
This is truly a film made by the community, for the community—and we can’t do what we want to do with this film without you and our communities.
Thank you for standing with us and helping share “We Ride Why” with the world.

“We Ride Why” is an inspiring and moving film that will stay with you long after you watch it. It is a story about the power of love, the importance of community, and the never-ending hope that can be found even in the darkest of times.
If you or someone you know has been impacted by cancer, we encourage you to watch We Ride Why. It is a film that will give you hope, strength, and courage.
“We Ride Why” embodies the freedom cycling offers – a reprieve from daily life’s stressors and obligations. Cycling is our escape, our sanctuary, and our connection to something bigger. We ride not just for physical health but to heal and make a difference. Our passion drives us to share our love for cycling with the world, highlighting businesses, brands, and the cycling community.
“We Ride Why” is more than just a question – it’s a conversation, a connection, a shared purpose. It’s about understanding why each of us matters, why our stories intersect, and why we come together to support those affected by cancer. The story starts with individual lives negatively impacted by cancer, which are part of a larger community united against this disease.
This film is a love letter to those we’ve loved and lost, as well as those who continue to endure. It’s a story that transcends cycling – it’s a story about family, community, connection, and love. The bike becomes a powerful metaphor, symbolizing unity, inclusion, health, resilience, and overcoming challenges.
At its core, the movie explores the why behind our actions. Why do we ride? Why do we fight? Why do we come together? The answer is simple: love. Love for our families, friends, communities, music, and life itself. This deep-seated love is what makes the film impactful and resonant.
