I moved from the city, sold everything I had, and went completely off grid to build Spectrum Sawdust Animal Sanctuary and my wood shop. With no electricity, no running water, and living in a tent, I poured my heart into creating a safe haven for dogs on ten acres of land. Every day, I worked to build a cabin that would finally give these dogs a place to call home.

But as I was installing siding and finishing the cabin, I fell seven feet from a ladder. Now, I can barely move and can't work, but the need to finish the cabin is more urgent than ever. Without it, we can't open the sanctuary, and the dogs won't have a home. This accident threatens to destroy the dream I've worked so hard for, and I can't let that happen—for myself or for the hundreds of dogs counting on me.
