Help Finish Lillie Smith's Home

Donation protected
This summer, Ms. Lillie Smith fell victim to a local con-man who offered to side her house. She paid him for materials and for his work, and he began work on her home. After getting started he showed up less and did less work each time. He began taking the materials with him and finally stopped responding to calls and texts from Ms. Lillie and her family.

After reaching out on social media and receiving help from neighbors, some of the siding has been returned and gracious volunteers have stepped forward to help complete the work before winter hits.

We are asking for donations to purchase the remaining supplies and equipment needed to allow the work to be done as soon as possible.

Ms. Lillie has always cared for all of those around her, helping raise her 7 sibling at the age of 17 after her mother passed away. She has always been a mother, grandmother and great aunt to her family and community. She worked for over 30 years with special needs children at Wesley School.

The money raised will go toward the cost of the remaining supplies and equipment needed for local volunteers, including a local certified contractor, to do the work for free. Any remaining funds will go directly to Ms. Smith in an attempt to recoup the money that was taken from her.
