Help Findlay get back in the classroom
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Danielle and I am raising money to help my sister Julia and her husband Scott get the treatment they need for their dog Findlay.
Findlay is a three year old Aussiedoodle who is a certified therapy dog and helps in Julia's special education classroom. Findlay helps Julia by calming down her students when they are angry and provides them a great motivation throughout the day. Who doesn't love puppy snuggles?

Findlay not only means the world the Julia and Scott, but to so many students and staff at Moye Elementary. Findlay is a 3-year-old Aussiedoodle, who is certified as a therapy dog. He joins Julia in her classroom most school days and supports students throughout the building. Findlay has become such an important part of the Moye family as he works with children and staff to support them when they are feeling stressed or just need a happy, smiley, cuddly face to brighten their day. Findlay helps to calm down children, lends a listening ear and assists in de-escalating situations. In a newsletter sent out to families, the Superintendent of O’Fallon District 90 shared that Findlay even got on a bus with a child who was feeling stressed, and made sure the student was able to travel safely home. Julia describes Findlay as a loving and fluffy little goofball. Everyone at Moye Elementary is incredibly grateful to have a sweet pup like Findlay join our family.
Findlay and Julia were recently recognized within the local newspaper for their excellent work in the classroom.
Over the last several months, Findlay has been having severe back pain that is only managed with pain medications and steroids. These medicines, when given over the long term, can have harmful effects as well. However, it has gotten to a point where these medications aren't as effective as they once were. He is no longer the playful 3 year old puppy he used to be; he has a hard time jumping up on the couch for snuggles, he has trouble walking up and down stairs to the point where Julia or Scott have to carry him, he has trouble going to the bathroom when he wants to, and he has had to cut back on the amount of time going to school and local nursing homes. In talking with multiple veterinarians, it is thought that Findlay has Intervertebral Disc Disease or an neurological inflammatory disease, which can be serious especially given how quickly his symptoms have progressed. In order to accurately diagnose and therefore treat him, he would need an MRI and potentially surgery. Needless to say, Julia and Scott were not anticipating that their dog would need all of this at a young age. They both have dreams of still taking him for hikes, kayak trips, and working on agility training.
I urge you to consider donating to Julia, Scott, and Findlay so that he can get the treatment he needs. Julia is such an amazing and dedicated teacher and dog mom and Findlay is the perfect addition to Julia and Scott's family of 2. Julia knew that Findlay, as a certified therapy dog, would be an amazing asset to her work as a special education teacher. He is living up to the all the praise both inside and outside the classroom! I would urge you to help out Findlay and his "people".
Thank you!
