Asking for help isn’t my default. I’m a figure-it-out person. But this past year stacked challenges faster than I could absorb, so I’m making a clear, hopeful ask to get back to solid ground.
Why I’m in Arizona
I moved from California to Arizona to help my grandmother transition into memory care. My local network is small because I came to be a caregiver first and rebuild later.
Last year, I also lost my grandparents in Ecuador—my mom’s father and stepmother. After our mother passed when I was 20 and my sister was 17, they helped raise my sister. I’ve been spearheading and funding the legal and estate logistics tied to their passing while starting over in a new state.
There is an ongoing property dispute related to their home. We’re working through counsel to secure the property, assess damages, and restore the home to the vision my grandparents built. Because litigation is ongoing, I cannot say much more.
Someone I trusted stole my identity—drained accounts, opened credit in my name, and wrecked my score. Then fraudulent evictions hit my record. Landlords won’t rent to me, so I’ve been in hotels and short-term Airbnbs to keep a safe roof over me and my two rescue dogs. It’s kept us safe, but it isn’t sustainable.
Then the costs snowballed:
• Dog attack: recovery was short; the bills weren’t—$100,000+.
• Car accident: my only vehicle was totaled; ~$100,000 more in medical costs, and I still owe on the car.
• With canceled cards, no stable address, and twice-yearly billing, I never received the renewal notice—my insurance had lapsed without my knowledge.
What I’m doing
I’m disputing the fraud, working with counsel, and documenting every step. I filed a police report and compiled evidence; there’s been no movement on the case, and a year later the identity-theft damage still blocks housing and credit. I’m applying for long-term rentals, cutting costs, and I’ll post updates on how funds are used.
Who I am, beyond this moment
I’m resilient. I survived uterine cancer a few years ago and kept going. Some friends stepped back when things got hard; I kept moving. I don’t quit—I’m asking for a bridge back to stable.
What your support does
• Housing: deposit + first months to end expensive nightly stays
• Legal: clear identity-theft damage, remove wrongful evictions, and address active estate needs
• Transportation: resolve the totaled-car balance and secure reliable wheels
• Pets: vet care, food, meds, boarding if needed
• Basics: essentials while I stabilize income and housing.
How I can give back
I’m happy to repay kindness with work—locally or remotely. I can help with cooking, cleaning, decorating, filing/organizing, and I’m excellent at document prep (medical/legal records, timelines, summaries, evidence binders). If you’d like help, tell me what you need and I’ll do my best to earn it.
How to help
Even $10 nudges this from survival to stability. If donating isn’t possible, a share helps more than you know. Thank you for reading and for helping me turn this around.
