From the Heart of Leya Stewart's Family
Leya has been missing since July 4, 2023 in Juneau County, WI.
Leya was a Mother a daughter and had two sisters, a brother and was a friend to many. Leya had 4 children; Nathan, Cameron, Mariah and her youngest, Robert who passed from H1N1 at the age of 3. Her family and friends are looking for answers. Leya was outgoing, well-liked, loved her children and family, would do anything others and is terribly missed by her family and friends.
On the day that Leya's Mother (Vera) was aware that Leya was missing an acquaintance from down the road came to her house around 12:30-1:00 am and told Vera that he and Leya had an argument and that he kicked her out she walked away from his house. He handed Vera, Leya's cigarettes and her phone.
Approximately 6:30 am that same day, that same male subject showed up at Vera's house again with Leya's shoes. He denied knowing where she was or is after she allegedly walked away.
It will be 2 years this July 4th. Searches, leads and investigations have led the case nowhere. What hurts Leya's children, mother, sisters and friends is that there is no closure. No answers. No body to say goodbye to.
Family, friends and some community members do not feel that enough has been done by the Juneau County Sheriff's Office. We've stayed quiet until now but we can't any longer. We believe the investigation has been filled with missteps and deliberate indifference. We won't stop until we get answers.
We believe that evidence that was given to the sheriff's office was never tested as we had been told. Key witnesses have never been interviewed or re-interviewed after Leya's Mother gave information directly from a witness.
We deserve answers. We deserve closure and to know that those responsible are held accountable. We feel like Leya's life and now her death are being covered up. Leya's life mattered to her children, Mother, siblings, friends and community members.
Leya's
Leya's family are pleading for help from the public so they can hire a private investigator, an attorney, pay for funeral expenses and any leftover money to be used for Leya's children. Please help us be able to bring Leya home and give us peace of mind.
Please help me bring my daughter home. Thank you to all of you for reading our story and for your time and consideration. Vera
