On August 22, 2022 at about 9:45 PM, I stopped at a dirt lot just next to the Chevron gas station in Vidal, California to let both my dogs out to urinate, especially Lennox who is healing from an internal infection. The dirt lot is just west of the Chevron and is a very dimly lit area.
I let Lennox out first, off-leash as I have always done in the past the majority of his life. While I was trying to get my other dog out, Lennox goes around a dirt burm. I followed him and saw that he was in a dark area, only seeing the glare from his eyes. I go back to my pick-up truck to get my flashlight so I can see him and he was gone in less than 30 seconds no where to be found. I checked the surrounding areas immediately after, and stayed there all night hoping he would return but he never did. Unfortunately, the following morning, I made the difficult decision of having to leave without Lennox. The day started to get hot and I had his sister who was getting restless in the truck. My heart was in pain as I drove away.
There were several truckers in the area and I have a strong suspicion he may have been picked up by one of them but I am not 100% sure. Cameras from the Chevron did not pick up Lennox, meaning to say he never went passed that area. And the area towards the empty lot/desert, I was already in the immediate area. Leaving the area where the truckers were at.
Lennox means a lot to me! His sister Sola misses him as well. I had rescued him from the Baldwin Park Animal Shelter back in April 2016 when he was only 6 months old. He has been with me ever since and you can only imagine the world of hurt I have been going through. I kick myself everyday since he was lost and I ultimately had failed him in the end. I am only human and trying to make things right.
I am asking for any and all help in finding Lennox. From keeping your eyes peeled wherever you may go, to scouring the internet, to checking shelters/rescues and/or a monetary donation.
Lennox is a super friendly grey Blue Nose Pit Bull with white chest and white paws. He is 7 years old and about 90 pounds. His ears and tails are unclipped. Lennox is neutered and he is also chipped. He needs medication.
The donations raised will go towards upping his reward, his lost dog campaign and search expenses, medical expenses when found, and Pit Bull education to raise awareness about the breed.
Thank you so much for your time and reading my story about Lennox!
