We are asking for help in the search for our beloved Gabriel Vaughn, who was last seen around 4:15 p.m. on Monday, February 16, 2026, during a rafting trip near Greenwall Rapids on the Illinois River in Oregon. Gabriel is 25 years old, 5'10", 160 pounds, with blonde hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a blue dry suit, helmet, and life jacket. He left his group to hike in the woods with plans to hike out toward the Chetco drainage and has not been seen since. Search and Rescue teams have been notified and efforts are ongoing, but severe weather has limited aerial support, including the U.S. Coast Guard’s ability to fly a helicopter.

As the search continues, our family is facing significant costs related to travel, coordination, supplies, and time away from work so we can remain on-site and actively assist in efforts to find him. Gabriel is deeply loved and missed beyond words. Not knowing where he is or how he’s doing has been devastating, but we are holding onto hope and doing everything possible to bring him home safely.
