Help Find Eddy Santillanes and Support his Family

Our dear friend, Eddy Santillanes, has been missing since February 3, 2025. He left his phone and wallet at home and was last seen walking on the 34000 block of County Rd 20.8, Trinidad, CO. He was reported missing on February 5, 2025.

Leading up to his disappearance, Eddy wasn’t doing well mentally and physically. For over a year, he had been living in an isolated area that was far and removed from his many friends. As anyone would, Eddy struggled emotionally without an easily accessible support group. These challenges were further compounded by the very recent passing of his mother.

In the wake of their mother’s passing, Eddy’s sister, Monica, traveled from Denver to Trinidad to help sort their mother’s end of life affairs. With Eddy now missing in addition, Monica’s life has been completely upended. She has had little choice but to leave her 3 small children at home with her husband, Matt, and live in Trinidad to search for her brother full time. Matt is not only their family’s sole income but is now unexpectedly caring for their children alone.

Furthermore, the Las Animas county sheriff’s department recently observed multiple deputies quit. Their progress in helping search for Eddy has consequently been slow and limited. In an effort to fasten the pace, Monica and a group of Eddy’s friends have tirelessly searched for any leads on where he could have gone.

Everyone should have an Eddy in their life — On the surface, he’s the quintessential man’s man. Standing at 6’2”, intelligent and hardworking, a true carpenter who enjoys working with his hands. But there is also a gentle side to Eddy. He has a deep love for nature and animals. Eddy has an unshakable loyalty to his friends and he loves his friends sincerely.

Eddy isn’t someone to be forgotten. He deserves safety and to know that he is loved and dearly missed beyond comprehension.

This tragedy has understandably created an unfathomable amount of financial and emotional strain on Monica. The emotional toll this has taken on Eddy’s loved ones is hard enough to bear. We ask that you help provide some financial relief to Eddy’s sister and also help us utilize every resource that we can in our efforts to find our friend.

Our goal is to raise $5000 to help with costs related to the search. The money will go towards things like billboards, flyers, and supplies and support for organizing future searches.

We also have an additional $5000 goal to help support Eddy's immediate family through this time.

As funds come in and are used we will share updates of what is being spent.
