My name is Shelly Miller. I have a dear friend Hawa Kamara whose son, DeeDee (Winston Drepaul), started having mental health issues about 2 months ago. He was at home with her recovering after a hospital stay, when early on the morning of March 23, he left their apartment for no apparent reason. I started this GoFundMe to help my friend and her family as they were searching for DeeDee. Sadly, we learned yesterday, April 11, that DeeDee’s body was recovered from a pond near their home. Hawa and her family are very grateful to those who have donated and offered prayers for them. Hawa, a single mother, has been unable to work during this ordeal and faces additional financial burdens now. I am hoping we can continue to support her as she copes with a loss that no mother should ever have to bear.
