David Blount is my brother, and his disappearance has shaken our entire family, friends, and community to the core. Everyone who knows David is aware that something terrible has happened—there is no doubt in our hearts that he has been murdered. Despite the overwhelming evidence of foul play, the local city police sat on their hands for almost two weeks, showing extreme malfeasance and neglect in their investigation. The services of HEAL CORP, Call Inc., the Cherokee County Sheriff's Department, and the Texas Rangers were flat out refused by the local Rusk PD, but these organizations stepped up to help anyway. We are left heartbroken, frustrated, and desperate for answers, while those responsible remain free.
Thank God for the Cherokee County Sheriff's Department, the Texas Rangers, HEAL CORP, and Call Inc. Their involvement has given us hope that justice will be served, even when local authorities failed us. David’s beloved old dog, Lady, who belonged to our late mother, is also missing and is believed to have been murdered as well. The loss of Lady is another devastating blow to our family, and a reminder of the cruelty we are facing.
