My name is Terry Shookman, and I’m raising funds to bring answers and justice in the disappearancepoy of my brother, Brian E. Shookman, and the heartbreaking death of his teenage son, Mason.

On July 28, 2012, Brian was last seen leaving our cousin’s house in Kellogg, Idaho, on his way to a family gathering—but he never made it. Three weeks later, his car was found. Brian has never been seen again. All signs point to foul play.

The Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office has followed countless leads—but let’s be honest: this is a small, under-resourced rural agency that has never had the experienced personnel or tools to handle a case like this.

This has been an open missing persons case since 2012. Thirteen years. And they’ve gotten nothing. No suspects. No arrests. No real answers.

And this is in a community so small, you could practically line everyone up and start narrowing it down. But still—nothing. If we keep waiting on the same approach that’s failed for over a decade, my brother will never be found.

That’s why I’m going a different route. I’m raising the funds to bring in the right people, with national reach and real investigative power. I won’t stop until I bring Brian home.

Why We’re Raising $250,000

- $50,000 for Reward — for confirmed information that leads to the recovery of Brian or arrest and conviction of those responsible

- $150,000 for Private Investigation & Legal Support — including investigators, forensic experts, legal guidance, and national awareness efforts

- $50,000 for Justice for Mason — Brian’s 16-year-old son, who died in 2021 after taking a Percocet laced with fentanyl, nearly nine years to the day after his father vanished

About Brian & Mason

Brian was a devoted father, a loyal brother, and someone who loved life in the outdoors. His bond with Mason was deep and full of mutual love and respect—they were inseparable.

Losing both of them has crushed our family. The grief doesn't fade with time—it deepens with each year, each month, each week, each day that passes without truth, without justice, without Brian.

If I had to choose a person in this world who I could say without a doubt would unconditionally have my back, it would be Brian. And I promise him—I’m not stopping until I bring him home and find justice for Mason.
