30/6/2017 - I am 28 years old.  17 years ago when I was 11 I was diagnosed with a rare genetic disease called VHL (Von Hippel-Lindau - https://vhl.org/).
I have since had many health complications and surgeries as a result.  After my 9th brain surgery I had to learn to walk and talk again and feel it is high time to do something more to find a cure for this awful disease and help the many other VHL sufferers.  The search for a cure also links to helping to find a cure for cancer – I’m sure everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer.
