Help Finalize Citizenship for a Lifelong American
Donation protected
I was adopted from Russia at 2 years old by American Citizens and have lived my whole life since in the United States. In 2001, the year after I was adopted, the Citizenship Act was passed automatically naturalizing children adopted internationally once they arrive in the States with their citizen parents. Due to misinformation around the nuances of the new law, my parents never finalized my Citizenship paperwork after adopting me. They believed I was grandfathered into the law and was already naturalized. This was not the case.
I grew up in Pittsburgh and at 23 moved to Maryland. Upon attempting to change my address I was made aware of this problem. Now after 5 years of research, lawyers, paperwork, and shelling out all of my savings to fix this I've reached the last hurdle and it's the toughest one. I need $1,500 to file the N-600 form and pay for the lawyers. This is the last piece of paperwork I need to finalize my citizenship. Any little bit of help will go a long way. Thank you for your time and consideration. ❤️
