Help Film the First Season of Lilypad Library

My name is Kiersten Case and I am the creator of Lilypad Library. I am on the Autism spectrum and wanted to create a show from the perspective of someone who is neurodivergent. Inspired by old-school children's television like Mr. Roger's Neighborhood and Bear in the Big Blue House, we wanted a low-stimulating, emotionally impactful, and inclusive show. We use puppets and live action, calling back to an age of slower-paced television.
What is Lilypad Library about?
In the town of Singalong Swamp, librarian and musician Ms. Dottie runs the Lilypad Library. Lilypad Library is a fun place where all of the townsfolk can gather, grow, and learn. Specifically, the show follows Dots the Frog and Lotsa the Axolotl in their summer before Kindergarten. The show introduces topics of Kindergarten readiness such as sharing, independence (dressing oneself, packing a backpack), listening skills, storytelling, and more. It also introduces key foundational literacy and mathematic skills through the lens of a neurodivergent lead character. The Lilypad Library provides a backdrop for a variety of civics topics, such as voting, government roles, and more.
We have an amazing team of writers, researchers, puppeteers, producers, and directors that love this project very much, but also need to make a living by doing it. By donating to the show, you can help us film our very first season!
