This is Tammy. She is smart, witty & fun-loving young woman who up until 2 months ago had very little to worry about. she was a pharmacy technician for 20 years at a retail pharmacy where most of her customers knew her by name. That all changed when she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and she really needs your help.
HER STORY: On the morning of September 19, 2018, Tammy was getting ready for work but she was nauseous with vomiting. She went to work anyway & her symptoms continued when she finally decided to go to the nearest urgent care, where she had some tests and blood work done. The next day, urgent care tried to contact her and sent the fire department to her place to take her to the Emergency Room after the results came out. At the ER, they immediately admitted her since her WBC were almost non-existent. A biopsy was done & she was diagnosed with AML. So she could receive the best care, she was transferred her to a specialized clinic where she remains today. She had received 2 rounds of chemotherapy. Unfortunately, response was not favorable on her first round of chemotherapy. She had received a second round recently and is waiting for another biopsy. Due to a stronger second round of chemo, she has started to experience some vision loss, appetite changes, mouth sores with painful swallowing, severe pain & chemo brain. Both of her sisters have been tested for a bone marrow match for transplant and is awaiting for her infection & her body to recover to be able to endure the procedure.
She has 2 weeks left on her short term disability & the bills are adding up even with insurance. We are asking that you please help her in any way that you are able. Thank you.
