Dear Friends and Family,
It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our beloved Tamekia M. Patterson Black, who lost her courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on September 10, 2024. Pancreatic cancer is one of the most aggressive and least understood cancers, and too many families are forced to say goodbye far too soon. For that reason, we are choosing to donate to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network [PanCAN] (https://www.pancan.org).
PanCAN is one of the largest organizations focused solely on pancreatic cancer. It funds innovative research, provides resources for patients and families, and advocates for increased federal funding for pancreatic cancer research. PanCAN promotes early detection methods and new treatment options and strives to help make a difference in the lives of families who are fighting this disease.
In honor of Tamekia's memory, we respectfully request that, in lieu of gifts, you consider making a donation to this organization that is deeply important to us. Your generous support can help provide families and their loved ones facing similar circumstances with the invaluable gift of time, and hope.
We want to express our heartfelt gratitude for the love and support shown during this difficult time. Thank you for standing with us as we honor Tamekia’s life, her courage, and the love she so generously shared with all of us.
With love and gratitude
