Howard County police officer, former Staff Sargent, and Infantryman James Cramer and his family need your help. On Monday, May 8, 2023, James Cramer was in an accident while on a work trip in Rhode Island. This accident caused severe injuries to his head and spine. Currently, he is in the ICU. His future is unclear.
Alexis, his wife, was notified of the accident and James’ condition and immediately made arrangements for their children and made the almost 7-hour drive to be by his side.
James is currently stable and had a partial spinal fusion surgery on Wednesday.
James is married to Alexis, and they have three children.
James and Alexis were good friends in high school and continued to keep in touch while James served in the 82nd Airborne. The two would eventually reconnect and marry in 2010. Alexis is a former kindergarten teacher and was a stay-at-home mom to their three children until recently; she started working part-time at a preschool.
James loves being outdoors, hiking, and helping people, but most of all, James loves being a dad. Recently his son Eddie became interested in becoming a blacksmith, so what did James do? He and Eddie got into blacksmithing together, which is their special thing.
It is unclear how long James will be in Rhode Island and when he will be stable enough to be transferred to a hospital closer to home. That means that Alexis will need to stay in a hotel for the foreseeable future. It also means that she will need additional help with their children.
Things for the Cramer family changed in a blink of an eye, and right now, they need your help more than ever for the long road ahead in James’ recovery.
Please pray for James and his family.
