Help Fight For Lauren's Light

Lauren Stepaniak is a beautiful person inside and out. Lauren and Dustin were planning their wedding 5 or 6 years ago when I was lucky enough to be working with Dustin for a short period of time. When he talked to me about her and their wedding plans his eyes lit up, and they still do today when he talks about her or looks at her. Their love is something to strive for, something to envy. Lauren and I became fast friends immediately after meeting; she truly does light up a room and your life. So, they married and now have two beautiful and amazing little ones, Oliver (4 ½) and Isla (3).
I still can’t believe I’m actually typing these words right now, but Lauren, at 28 years old, was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in December. It has metastasized and spread to her lungs and lymph nodes. The prognosis isn’t great, but Lauren is a FIGHTER. She wants to and will fight for her kids, husband, family and friends. She enjoyed Christmas and New Years with her husband and kiddos and has been able to keep her light. I’m not sure how she does it, but she does.
This family deserves sooo much more than the hands they’ve been dealt. Dustin has served for our country for 12 years. He continues to be active in the Army and the Wisconsin National Guard. He dedicates many of his weekends to Army School and training future soldiers. Lauren has always been extremely supportive of his service and continues to keep their home and family life intact and joyful.
Knowing that there are already medical bills piling up, and thinking about all the future expenses, I’d ask you to love on this family however you can. $1, $5, $100, $1,000 or just simply prayers and well wishes. This is one of those times that I cannot wrap my head around how something like this can happen to them. It’s just not fair.
*This comes from me...not Lauren and Dustin. But I know that they would like to enjoy life during this time, as much as they can! I know they have a bit of a bucket list and would like to take advantage of the time they have. They already got to check one thing off that list and that was going to their first game at US Bank Stadium thanks to a coworker of Dustin's. If any of you have tickets for something you think they'd love, etc, please let me know, or just tell them! I know that their main priority with the money we're raising is for medical bills and the kids, so they won't use it for themselves. But...I know I want them to be forced to use some of it for enjoyment!
We appreciate anything you can donate. Please let us know if you have any questions.
We will continue to update this site moving forward with Lauren’s progress.
Thank you!
