On May 21, 2023, my son, Kendall Rand Jr. was diagnosed with Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumor, an extremely rare and aggressive cancer for which no specific treatment is currently known. I started this GoFundMe in hopes of obtaining financial support to further my son’s treatment.
Despite undergoing 14 months of chemotherapy, radiation therapy and multiple surgeries, none of these treatments have managed to stop the disease's progression. On August 1, 2024, Kendall rang the bell to celebrate his completion of treatment, but soon after we discovered Kendall’s cancer had rapidly progressed and metastasized.
When my son was diagnosed our lives were turned upside down, and our health insurance has continuously denied to pay for treatment. This disease has mentally, physically, financially and emotionally exhausted myself and my family.
There are additional treatments that might offer him some relief, but unfortunately, these are not covered by our health insurance. Therefore, we are reaching out to seek support in raising the necessary funds for these treatments. Kendall was accepted into a clinical trial that has the potential to buy him more time with us. Kendall is such an amazingly strong kid and he refuses to give up, so as his mother, I REFUSE TO GIVE UP ON HIM!
In this incredibly tough time, we are asking for your support to help relieve the burden of medical bills, medications, travel expenses and daily expenses.
