Help Fight Cancer with Geri!

Hi, my name is Sarah Paluch and my Mother Geraldine Paluch has had a huge surgery on March 28th. During her 10 hour surgery with 2 surgeons (1 to remove her cancer and the other to reconstruct her throat and add a flap to where her tongue used to be) she did great and they say they removed it all! The next day she was rushed back into OR because her blood vessel in her leg (where they took an artery and tissue for the flap) had torn and started bleeding under the skin right by her knee cap - they cleaned it out closed it up and inserted a new draining tube. There was also fluid build up by her left side of her neck collar bone area and they flushed that too and inserted a new draining tube. That night she had issues with her trach and they had to do a bed side assistance to clear it and did an xray of her chest to make sure the lungs didn't have fluid. The lungs were clear but they did see an infection behind them (which the antibiotics will clear up before she leaves the hospital) Well then she ended up having her feeding tube the following day clog - so they had to sedate her and replace it with a new feeding tube. (While that was happening her blood pressure did go way up do to not being able to give her her blood pressure medication first thing in the morning) But she is stable now. Today April 1st she has finally moved to a regular room and is looking to home on April 4th or April 5th as long as there are no more hiccups. The medical bills are in the hundred thousands and unfortunately they can't afford them. Hoping we can reach out to all of you to help us during this trying time. She will need help everyday for the rest of her life. The trach and feeding tube are permanent and if you know my Mom you know she loves to cook and without taste or the ability to eat, this is going to be hard on her. So, please find it in your hearts to help our family heal and not stress about the finacial situation we are now in. I want to make sure my Mom receives the best treatment possible and have a smooth recovery to enjoy the few years she has left with us. God Bless and thank you!!
