My name is Sara, and I’m raising funds for my cat, Figaro. He’s four years old and has been my emotional support animal since August 2024. Figaro came into my life at a time when I was struggling with my mental health, feeling isolated, and facing a difficult relationship with my mom, finding only comfort on a not so healthy coping mechanism. When I first met him at a pet store, he was different from the other cats—he has no tail, half of his left ear is missing, and he was so skinny because other cats bullied him and took his food. Despite all that, he was gentle and scared, and I felt an instant connection. After months of trying, I was finally able to bring him home, and since then, he’s helped me stay clean and rebuild my relationship with my mom. Whenever I feel overwhelmed, Figaro is there, purring and comforting me, reminding me that I’m not alone. He’s truly saved my life in so many ways, and I want to do everything I can to save and make better his life too. Last year, Figaro was diagnosed with stomatitis, a condition where his immune system attacks his own teeth, causing severe pain and infection in his gums. He can barely close his mouth, drools constantly, and struggles to eat even wet food. The smell from the infection is terrible, and I can’t imagine how uncomfortable he must feel every day. The only way to cure him is to remove all his teeth, but the surgery and care are more than I can afford on my own, especially as I’m saving for college. Figaro means the world to me, and it breaks my heart to see him suffer. If anyone is interested in helping my cat Figaro and me, they are welcome to. I dream of going to college and having a dorm with my cat, but seeing him in pain every day is heartbreaking. If anyone finds kindness in their heart to help, I would be so grateful. Little by little, with your support, Figaro can be a happy and healthy cat again.
