Help FibreWorks Studio & Gallery

Donation protected
If you have ever visited FibreWorks Studio & Gallery, participated in an event or workshop then you know how much value FibreWorks adds to the local arts community and beyond. We are asking for our community’s help to bridge the gap between our current resources and future funding opportunities in order to keep our doors open. Our goal is to continue providing enriching experiences to all who visit to the yurts. We need your help to support this vital artistic hub over the financial hump of 2 difficult Covid years combined with delayed timing of grant opportunities for a new non-profit. Any donation amount helps ..

Our GO FUND ME seeks to raise money to cover our operating costs and basic supplies for programming for the upcoming year until further funding is available to us. Our programming supports both local and visiting artists with novice to master courses. This enables creatives who would generally struggle with little guidance to receive hands-on experience and applicable techniques through the mentorship of a professional artist.

A little more about us:

FibreWorks was established in 2006 as a privately owned gallery and has since transitioned to a registered non-profit society in 2021 under the direction of Alexis Bach and Nell Burns. This ensures that FibreWorks remains a community of supportive creativity for the fibre arts on the Sunshine Coast. As a new non-profit, all staff and board members have volunteered their time in order to allow all income to be invested back into FibreWorks to help it flourish as a fibre art centre on the Sunshine Coast and beyond. FibreWorks currently relies on art sale commissions and workshop income to support itself, our artists and our community. Nell & Alexis are full of energy, enthusiasm, ideas and drive to achieve our goals. We have a plan in place to secure programming grants for the upcoming season, which will build to larger opportunities to support, engage, educate and enrich our community.

Criteria for most grant applications requires yearly operational & financial reports, which will not be available until our AGM slated for June 2022. Only after this date will the gallery have the opportunity to apply for more robust grants for programs and operational supports.

Thank you for helping FibreWorks through this transition into our next chapter.
