Help Fernando Rebuild After Accident
Donation protected
On May 31st of 2024, Fernando was on his way home in Arizona from Texas when he was involved in a single vehicle accident. He was found on Saturday, June 1st of 2024 in the morning at Datil, New Mexico. He was flown to the University of New Mexico hospital in Albuquerque, through air in a helicopter.
His injuries include a small brain bleed (healing on its own), fractured ribs (healing on its own), almost broken shoulder blade on his right side (healing on its own), his lungs suffered a bit from the crash (healing on its own), bleeding inside and cuts on both his kidney and liver (an incision was placed and is healing well), almost broken spine on his lower back area (healing on its own), his pelvic bone disconnected from his thigh bone (2 screws were placed for it to be reconnected). He has been aware of his surroundings these past days, he did have a lot of pain before the screws were placed and now he feels better but still feels pain. He is starting to eat more food to gain strength. He has stood up a few times but needs assistance. His lungs are becoming stronger each day. He will be starting physical therapy soon.
The vehicle he was driving is sadly unable to salvage due to it being burned to black and everything was destroyed by a fire and/or explosion. Because of the vehicle's condition, he has lost all of his belongings in the crash.
For the next couple of months, we will be taking care of him at home in the state of California. He also is in need of clothes and personal belongings he lost from the accident. We will also be receiving a medical bill from the hospital which they all did a wonderful job taking care of him I can’t thank them enough for the thorough care services.
He also lost his beloved dog which is the reason why he was on his way home. Her name was Diamond, she was a pit-bull who was the sweetest dog ever, loved by all.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story of a sudden accident that took place unexpectedly. It shocked everyone in his family and more. He is still surprised by the amount of family who came to see him which makes him feel loved and appreciated. Also, thank you to everyone who has contacted through social and phone. Everyone’s support is very beautiful; it gives him strength to keep going.
We are thankful for anyone who donates, big or small, it makes a big change. Fernando is very blessed! Now he is given a chance to start over again which will be hard in the beginning of recovering but it will give him even more strength than before. Continue to keep him and his family in your prayers.
God Bless You and Your Family ❤️
