We are Fernando’s parents, and we’re raising funds to help him compete at the JKS World Championships 2026 in Vitória, Espírito Santo, Brazil.

What is JKS?

JKS stands for Japan Karate Shoto Federation, a prestigious international karate organization. We are proud members through our affiliation with JKS England.

About Fernando

Fernando began his martial arts journey at just 4 years old, full of energy, curiosity, and a big, contagious smile. What started as a way to channel his energy quickly turned into a true passion. In 2021, he joined MK Shotokan Karate Academy, where he remains a proud and committed member to this day and on 2023, Fernando was selected to be part of JKS England.

Now 12 years old, Fernando trains six times a week, showing a level of focus and discipline well beyond his years. He takes part in as many championships as possible throughout the year — all while balancing his academic studies with responsibility and determination.

His journey has not always been easy. Behind every medal are hours of hard work, early mornings, sore muscles, and lessons learned through both victory and defeat. Yet, Fernando has never wavered. He continues to push himself, always with humility and that ever-present smile.

Over the past few years, his dedication has led to some incredible achievements, here’s a few of them:

3x Gold Medalist – England JKS National Championship (2023, 2024, 2025)

These medals are more than just wins — they represent Fernando’s journey of growth, resilience, and passion.

He has made many friends along the way, gaining not just experience in the dojo and on the tatami, but also strong values that will stay with him for life: respect, perseverance, humility, and courage.

Fernando dreams big — of one day becoming a world and Olympic champion — and if his journey so far is anything to go by, the future is incredibly bright.
