My name is Fern, and I’m reaching out because life has thrown more challenges my way than I ever imagined. About two years ago, I was scammed out of a significant amount of money, which forced me to sell my house and uproot my life. After moving into an apartment, I faced another setback—eviction—when I couldn’t work due to knee replacement surgery. On April 13, 2022, my husband passed away, and the grief and loss made everything even more difficult. My family and I spent eight months in a homeless shelter, trying to hold onto hope and faith through every hardship.
Recently, we finally found a place to call our own, but the struggle isn’t over. We’ve fallen behind on bills, and my car desperately needs brakes, brake fluid, gas, and an oil change. Without these repairs, it’s hard to get to work or even buy groceries. The stress and uncertainty have made it difficult to keep my faith, and every day feels like a battle just to get by. Most nights, I cry myself to sleep, feeling the weight of everything I’ve lost and the uncertainty of what’s ahead.
I’m asking for help because I want to do better and feel better. Your support would mean the world to me—it would help me get back on my feet, relieve some of the daily stress, and restore my hope for the future. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my story and considering a donation. Your kindness can truly make a difference in my life. I also have a 19 year old daughter with adhd and autism. She also found her father dead in our home first before I got home from work. Trying to give my daughter somewhat of a Christmas this year. So tired of struggling and stressing out about everything. Starting to feel like a failure as a person and parent. Also haven't seen my brother in over 10 years. Didn't even make it to my dad's funeral a year and a half ago.
