Update Help Ferdinand Trench with Medical Expenses

Donation protected
In recent years, my brother has been diagnosed with lupus and consequently became a dialysis patient in 2020. He has been a courageous fighter through it all, never allowing the illness to get him down while in the same breathe encouraging persons to embrace and appreciate life through his numerous Facebook posts.

He took a routine vacation trip to the US in October 2021, and on his expected return, his covid-test result came back positive though being fully vaccinated. Subsequently, his symptoms have steadily worsened which has resulted in him being hospitalized in the ICU at a Maryland, USA health facility since November 8, 2021 with covid pneumonia. Since being there, he has undergone multiple medical procedures which include ventilation, sedation/medically induced coma, blood pressure monitoring treatment, and frequent dialysis just to name a few. He has also received several procedures that required surgery: a tracheotomy and the insertion of a permanent dialysis catheter/port, and based on reports, he may have a few more to do.

His Medical Expenses are expected to be a substantial amount and we are seeking your assistance on his behalf. He is a selfless individual who serves his country and who will, without much thought go beyond the call of duty to assist anyone in need; hence, his personal tagline - "The Hero Within". He was even awarded the National Badge of Honour For Gallantry by the Governor-General in 2012 for his selfless act of saving a young man's life whose vehicle had gone over a precipice.

Please support this worthy cause and I leave with you one of his encouraging post "Why cry about the things that we can't fix in life, find comfort in knowing that life is not a plain but has peaks and lakes some way or the other, you have to cross it", posted June 15, 2021

UPDATE
Since January 2022, Ferdinand came out of the coma and has been in a rehab facility since. On April 9, 2022 he was discharged from the facility despite him not fully recovering. He flew home to Jamaica on the 10th of April and has been receiving home care.

The cost to sustain his live is very costly and frequent at this moment
- Oxygen
- dialysis
- physiotherapist
- caregiver
- nutrition
- medication
- medical supplies
and as such we need your help.

We are very appreciative to those who have assisted in the past (Thanks a Million) and look forward to additional support as we seek to help this "fallen" but "not out" soldier who himself risked his life to save others.
