We found a dog on 294 next to a car that had been there since around 6pm Saturday evening most likely with the dog as well. Later in the morning hours of Sunday 3am on our way home, we spotted him on the side of the car from earlier in the day facing the busy highway. He was incredibly close to being hit by passing traffic which seemed inevitable since he was delirious and dehydrated. We turned around and as approaching the car I noticed a woman in the driver seat and asked if she was ok and quickly replied “NOT MY DOG” and slammed the door in my face. I did not hesitate to help this massive German Shepherd and threw him in the back of my truck.

His nails were severely overgrown, and he was extremely dehydrated.

Sunday morning came around, no vets were open, and we couldn’t stand to see this gentle giant in pain, so we rushed him to the emergency room. He was chipped and found that his name is Fenway, originally from Denver Colorado and of course the owners are not responding to the reach outs.

They ran all necessary tests on him which all added up to nearly $1,328.

As of Monday morning, we have been notified because of additional testing and imaging that Fenway has severe intestinal swelling and obstruction which can be fluids or a mass and Pneumonia in the lungs. Fenway needs additional medical attention that will cost close to over 5k.

We are trying to do the right thing for Fenway in giving him a second chance. Here we are asking for a helping hand from anyone that can help.
