Fenton, my 7-year-old retired assistance dog, tore his cruciate ligament and can’t use his leg. He’s in pain and missing the walks and playtime he loves. Surgery on October 1st will help him walk again, but it’s very expensive, and I’m struggling after losing my job. Any support toward his surgery and x-rays would mean the world to both of us.

Hi, my name is Lina, and I am once again asking for your support (insert Bernie Sanders meme here).

Fenton is my 7-year-old retired assistance dog and best friend. He recently tore his cranial cruciate ligament while playing with Powder, his wired-to-the-moon Golden Retriever sister.

Since then, he hasn’t been able to walk properly. X-rays show that his bones are not aligned correctly without the ligament, so he cannot put weight on his leg right now. He’s in pain and feeling down -- we usually spend so much time walking and playing outside, so being unable to move around has really dampened his spirit. I have him on the maximum pain relief recommended to make things a little easier, along with a schedule of round-the-clock doting and kisses.

He is scheduled for surgery on October 1st at AllPets Vet in Drogheda, but the cost is significant. Despite my best efforts, I’m still looking for work after being laid off this year, and money is very tight.

I would be deeply grateful for any help toward covering Fenton’s surgery and x-rays.
