Help Felt Nowt Bring the North East to Edinburgh Fringe 2026

Donation protected
Felt Nowt (CIC) is a not-for-profit, artist-led comedy collective based in the North East of England. We exist to support comedians, grow audiences, and make comedy more accessible — especially for working-class performers and those from underrepresented regions, specifically, the North East of England.

This year, we’ve been given an incredible opportunity:

A full-time venue at the Edinburgh Fringe 2026!

We’ll be running The Garrett, a 25-30 seater, at the fantastic The Alchemist (George Street) for the entire Fringe (7th August - 31st August 2026) — booking North-East based comedians, hosting shows, and giving our region the representation it deserves on the world’s biggest arts stage.

But we need help to make it happen.

What Are We Raising Money For?

The Fringe is expensive — especially for grassroots performers. Your donation will help to cover costs like:

Central Felt Nowt Fringe Costs:
• Design and printing our own Felt Nowt brochure and any central posters/flyers
• Venue boards/central advertising, social media advertising costs to get audiences through the door
• Tech support (sound, lighting, setup)
• Venue manager to keep things running smoothly
• Transport and accommodation for performers
• PR and advertising to get the word out
• Videography/Photography
• Merch printing/production
• Accessibility support where needed (e.g. BSL interpretation for 1 performance of every show where possible and any other opportunities to provide better accessibility)
• Emergency contingency fund (for last-minute needs or artist support or additional accessibility costs)

We would be so lucky and so grateful to supporters if we are able to raise funds to contribute to any of these costs. In the event we are overwhelmed with support and have additional funds to utilise, we will look to provide all comedians attending fringe Individual Artist Bursaries (pro-rata’d to length of run at fringe) to help contribute to individual costs such as:
• Poster, flyer and digital asset design and printing costs
• Digital/social media advertising, flyerer costs, any other advertising costs
• Transport (local and to/from Edinburgh)
• Accommodation
• Living Costs
• Any additional tech and accessibility costs
• Registration fee costs
• Videography/Photography costs
• Any individual artist need
Every pound goes directly to supporting artists and making this project sustainable and for many, possible.

Why Does It Matter?
The Edinburgh Fringe is a global showcase — but it’s often inaccessible to:
• Working-class performers
• Artists from outside London
• Those with regional accents or non-traditional comedy styles
• People without financial backing or industry connections
Felt Nowt exists to change that.
We’ve built a community of comedians who support each other, share resources, and create space for voices that are often overlooked. This venue is a chance to show what the North East can do — and to bring our warmth, wit, and working-class brilliance to a wider audience.

A Thank You From Felt Nowt <3
We’re proud, excited, and a little terrified — but mostly we’re determined and grateful.
This is a chance to make the Fringe more inclusive, more regional, and more representative.
Every donation, every share, helps us get closer to achieving this: We could not do things like this without the help of our fantastic audiences and supporters. Thank you for helping us get there!
