If you attended Messiah College in the early 1990s, you probably remember Kevin Hicks. Kevin was one of the smartest guys on campus (not named Welby) and spent some of his time leading cheers dressed as the Falcon. In December, 2021, Kevin tested positive for COVID and was quickly hospitalized with a blood-oxygen percentage of 60%. Kevin has been on a ventilator and an ECMO machine since Christmas Eve. Fortunately, doctors have started to wean Kevin off of these machines, but his road to recovery will be a long one as he will need to re-learn a number of basic skills including breathing, walking, and speaking. Kevin has spent the past decade working as a self-employed attorney. We are starting this fund to help his family cover both medical and rehabilitation expenses.
