A few weeks ago, a young lurcher mix was found abandoned in Cyprus with her seven tiny puppies.
Cold, exhausted, and desperately trying to protect her babies, Feliza had somehow kept every one of them alive. She is only around 18 months old herself, but despite everything she had been through, she never stopped caring for her puppies.
Thankfully, the incredible team at SOS Save Oroklini's Stray Dogs stepped in and saved them.
Since then, Feliza has slowly begun to show everyone who she really is. Beneath the fear is the sweetest, gentlest girl imaginable. She loves people, is wonderful with other dogs, and after spending her young life surviving, she is finally learning what kindness feels like.
But while rescue spaces in Cyprus are desperately limited, opportunities for dogs like Feliza and her puppies to find forever homes there are heartbreakingly rare.
That’s where LurcherSOS stepped in.
Thanks to some amazing foster volunteers in the UK, Feliza and two of her daughters, Aurora and Lyra, now have foster homes waiting for them here. For the first time in their lives, they have a real chance of safety, comfort, and love.
Now we just need to get them here.
We are trying to raise £2,500 to cover the cost of transporting Feliza, Aurora, and Lyra from Cyprus to the UK in early July. Every penny raised will go directly towards their transport costs.
Feliza has already done the hard part. She survived on the streets. She kept seven puppies alive. She trusted humans again after being abandoned.
Now it’s our turn to help her.
If we raise beyond our target, any additional funds will go directly to LurcherSOS to continue helping vulnerable sighthounds in need, including potentially bringing more of Feliza’s puppies to safety should foster homes become available.
If you can donate, no matter how small, you will be helping change the lives of this little family forever.
And if you cannot donate, please consider sharing their story. The more people who see Feliza, Aurora, and Lyra, the closer they get to the loving future they deserve.
