Hello, we are Feliz Cumpleaños*, a short film written and directed by Carlos Batz, a third-year MFA Filmmaking student at UNC Wilmington and a Morganton native. The film follows the story of a financially struggling mother trying to give her son a meaningful birthday. The film will be shot and featured in Morganton, NC. Filming begins August 29th-September 3rd.
The film will highlight local landmarks, including the Marquee Cinema, the Morganton Public Library, Timmy Mac’s Comics, and Freedom Park.
Our production team is seeking donations/sponsors to help cover essential costs such as lodging, meals, transportation, editing, and film festival submissions. Any contribution—large or small—brings us closer to bringing this story to life.
