My cousin, Felix Ramirez Chavez, came to the United States from Guatemala with nothing but hope and determination. He wanted to escape the violence back home and dreamed of building a safer, better future—not just for himself, but for his single mother who has sacrificed so much for him. Felix has always been someone with a kind heart, a hard worker who just wanted a chance to live in peace.

Tragically, this dream was shattered when, after finishing a long day of work and just barely getting home, Felix decided to go out with friends to grab some food. It was then, in what should have been a normal and safe moment, that he was shot in the neck well in his car and yet to know why and who did this. Now, Felix is in the ICU fighting for his life, and our family is living a nightmare.

Felix has no medical insurance, and the costs for his immediate surgeries, ongoing hospital care, and the long road of physical therapy ahead are far more than we could ever manage on our own. We are asking for your help to give Felix the chance to recover, to heal, and to continue the life he came here to build. Ahora, Félix está en la UCI luchando por su vida, y nuestra familia está viviendo una pesadilla.
