"Hello! I’m Felix and I’m grimacing at the thought of asking for money, but times are hard and I’m in a bind! I am a Black, transgender graduate student facing financial strain after a recent breakup from a long term relationship. My ex partner is moving out May 1st and my expenses are doubling. Rent is $1600 along with monthly bills, groceries, and my transit pass for commuting.

As income, I work about 4-8 hours a week as a barista (where I don’t make tips) and I also petsit occasionally. This is not enough income to cover the cost of living in Seattle. My current focus is completing grad school and finishing my unpaid internship at the end of the summer. I am hoping to raise $10,000 to cover rent and expenses for 6 months until I start my new job as an associate therapist in the fall.
