Help Felix Owusu's Family Through This Tragic Loss in the US

In Memory of Felix Owusu: Supporting a Family in Crisis

We are devastated to share the tragic loss of our dear friend, Felix Owusu, a brilliant 37-year-old father and engineer who was killed in a fatal car crash on January 27, 2026 in Will County, Chicago, USA.

My name is Shadrack T. Asiedu, a PhD candidate in Electrical Engineering at South Dakota State University, USA. Felix and I were university mates at KNUST in Ghana, where we both graduated in 2011 with degrees in Electrical Engineering. Like many of us, Felix was a man of immense ambition who moved to the USA to pursue higher education and opportunities for his family. Tragically, on January 27, 2026, he was killed in a fatal accident in Chicago, USA, leaving behind a grieving wife and two young children, ages 3 and almost 5.

Felix’s journey was defined by sacrifice. After serving for 11 years as an Electrical Engineer at the Electricity Company of Ghana, Felix together with his wife and two young children moved to Chicago, USA so he could pursue a Master’s in Power Engineering at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT). A proud 2011 electrical engineering graduate of KNUST, Ghana, Felix had just completed his Master's program at IIT in December 2025, awaiting graduation in May 2026, and was in the final stages of job interviews.

He was a man of immense ambition and sacrifice, dedicated to building a stable life for the family he leaves behind.
Now, his wife, a young widow, and two toddlers are in their most vulnerable moments facing an unimaginable crisis without their provider.

They are currently in need, especially under this grave Chicago winter conditions, and would require assistance for their sustenance and expenses associated with Felix's untimely death.
Your donations will go directly into the sustenance of the deceased immediate family, and to provide a lifeline for his two young children.

Please consider donating and sharing this page to honour the memory of a man who gave everything for his family’s future.
