My name is Felix, and I’m reaching out for help because I’m facing a tough situation with my car. Right now, my car needs new brakes, and I owe over a thousand dollars in toll fees. I have to pay these fees in order to renew my car tags this year, and if I can’t, there’s a real risk that my car could be towed from my apartment complex. This has been weighing on me, as my car is my only way to get to work and take care of my responsibilities.
I have an hour-long commute every day to the Cherokee reservation, where I work for the Cherokee Nation communications department. As a Native, transgender, and twospirit person, my work is deeply important to me, and my car is essential for me to support myself and my community. Without reliable transportation, I wouldn’t be able to continue my job or stay connected to the people and causes I care about most.
I’m so grateful to anyone in my community who has more means and funds than me who cares enough about me and the work I do to help me get to work. Your support would mean the world to me and would help me get back on track. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for considering a donation.
